The Armenian Noahs Ark Silver coin series debuted from Geiger Edelmetalle, a German minting company in 2011. Armenia selected the biblical tale of Noah and the ark for its national silver bullion coinage because Mount Ararat, the place the Bible says the ark came to a rest after the floodwaters subsided, was historically within the boundaries of Armenian. The reverse design of the coin is designed by Eduardo Kurghinyan. The picture shows a flying dove with an olive branch and Noah's Ark floating between waves in front of the mountain. Background image of Ararat with rising sun. The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the State of Armenia and the denomination of 50000 DRAM, the year of issue is engraved below this inscription.
